Two-year-old Converge had an impressive win in his first career start at Belmont Park, beating a field of 11 horses by 3 ½ lengths in a one-mile turf race.

After sitting back on the inside and riding the three-path throughout the race, Converge and jockey Junior Alvarado made their move during the last several strides of the final turn, moving six-wide in the stretch and taking control of the race with a furlong to go.

Xavier Bloodstock purchased him as a yearling for $240,000 for owner Paul Pompa Jr. He is by Sidney's Candy and out of Atlantic Ocean. He is trained by Chad Brown.
