Four-year-old Connect showed no signs of rust after a 5-month layoff, winning the G3 Westchester Stakes at Belmont Park comfortably by 4 3/4 lengths and improving his lifetime record to 8-6-0-1.

In his previous two races, he won the G1 Cigar Mile and the G2 Pennsylvania Derby, where he defeated Kentucky Derby winner Nyquist, multiple graded stakes winner Gun Runner, and Preakness and Haskell winner Exaggerator.

The Curlin product has now earned $1,370,000 throughout his career.

Xavier recommended the purchase of Connect at the 2014 Fasig-Tipton July Sale to owner Paul Pompa Jr., who purchased the yearling for $150,000.

He is trained by Chad Brown.
